Ultraviolet radiation of Oufnu

Ultraviolet radiation of Oufnu

Ultraviolet (UV) irradiation has long been used in medicine and is widely applied. First, it is used for antibacterial treatment of premises — especially those requiring sterile conditions. Second, various devices that emit ultraviolet rays are successfully used to treat diseases of the nervous system, endocrine system, cardiovascular and respiratory systems, as well as joint and skin disorders. Ultraviolet radiation effectively destroys various microorganisms: bacteria, viruses, and fungal spores.

General Description of UV Radiation's Effect on the Human Body

The most energy-efficient ultraviolet waves have a wavelength between 205 and 315 nm. Their chemical activity is significantly higher than other segments of the light spectrum. The peak UV effect occurs at a wavelength of approximately 265 nm. These rays penetrate human body tissues only up to about 1 nm deep. Therefore, their direct impact is limited exclusively to surface layers of mucous membranes and skin exposed to irradiation.

Ultraviolet rays are an irreplaceable source of vitamin D, which forms the basis of strong teeth and bones and acts as a protective factor against cancer.

Ultraviolet radiation supports immune function, normalizes blood clotting processes, and improves lipid metabolism. Exposure to UV rays enhances respiratory function, increases oxygen supply to the myocardium, and improves its contractility.

About the OUFnu Device

OUFnu (Stationary Therapeutic Ultraviolet Irradiator) is designed for irradiation of the nasopharynx, nasal cavities, tonsils, i.e., upper respiratory pathways and ear cavities. This device allows four patients simultaneously to undergo irradiation sessions in physiotherapy rooms of medical facilities. In the OUFnu irradiator, the ultraviolet beam is focused through plastic tubes called tubuses.

The UV radiation source is a high-pressure mercury-quartz lamp DRT-240, emitting UV rays within a broad range (240–320 nm). During operation, the direction of the beam can be easily monitored using specially installed individual mirrors. For patient comfort, the working area is divided into four sectors by special curtains.

For therapeutic purposes, ultraviolet rays provide excellent therapeutic effects for many conditions. These include pain relief, anti-inflammatory action, desensitization, immune stimulation, and strengthening effects. One of the key conditions for successful treatment is selecting the correct dose individually for each patient and strictly monitoring the procedure.

Indications for Using the Device

In ENT practice, OUFnu is used for the treatment of:

  • Tonsillitis;
  • Rhinitis;
  • Sinusitis;
  • Peritonsillar abscesses, etc.

Procedures are administered to patients strictly according to a physician’s prescription. Medical staff must follow prescribed dosage guidelines precisely. The irradiator is switched off every two hours to allow the lamps to cool down. The irradiation is performed through a tube with an interchangeable tip inserted up to 5 cm into the nasal, oral, or ear areas.

Indications for prescribing OUFnu include chronic respiratory diseases, ENT pathologies, and the need to enhance the body's protective functions, increasing resistance to infections.

Contraindications

Contraindications include oncological diseases, stage III hypertension, active tuberculosis, circulatory insufficiency stages II–III, bleeding, acute inflammatory processes, exacerbation stages of chronic inflammation, hyperfunction of the thyroid gland, kidney failure, severe exhaustion of the nervous system, and atherosclerosis.

Procedure Results

Results of undergoing OUFnu procedures include reduced inflammation and swelling, desensitization, repair and regeneration of nasal mucosa, and improved immunity. Timely treatment of ENT organs is essential for maintaining the health of internal systems and organs. For example, the paranasal sinuses, tonsils, and ears often serve as focal points from which infection spreads throughout the body.

Untreated chronic tonsillitis can lead to kidney, joint, heart, liver, and other organ diseases. All upper respiratory and ear organs during purulent inflammations become potential sources of intracranial complications. Prolonged impairment of nasal breathing provokes hypoxic states and negatively affects the functioning of many organs, especially the brain.

What the Health Resort Offers

At the "Berezoviy Gai" health resort, procedures for restoring ENT organs using the OUFnu ultraviolet irradiator are widely and successfully carried out. Experienced doctors examine the patient’s condition and prescribe necessary treatments, while medical staff closely monitor their implementation. The prices for this procedure will pleasantly surprise you.
