Heat and mud treatment

Thermotherapy with Peloids: Various therapeutic muds (peloids) and peloid-like substances (such as paraffin, ozokerite, naftalan, clay) are used for thermal impact on the body.

A common feature of these materials is their ability to retain heat for a long time and gradually release it to the patient’s body throughout the procedure. This property forms the basis of their high therapeutic effectiveness. In addition to the thermal effect, many of these heat carriers also have a chemical effect on the body through inorganic salts, biologically active substances, and other components.

Peloid Therapy: This treatment method is based on the use of mineral-organic origin therapeutic muds and mud-like substances (such as clay and others). Their therapeutic effect is due to temperature and mechanical factors, natural physical properties, and chemical composition. The main form of treatment involves peat applications. Peat mud contains more than 15 different microelements (lead, iodine, copper, beryllium, etc.), organic acids, and biologically active organic compounds. The application of peat stimulates metabolism, promotes the resorption of inflammatory foci, improves tissue nutrition, softens scars, accelerates bone healing after fractures, reduces joint stiffness, increases range of motion, and improves adrenal gland function.

Paraffin-Ozokerite Therapy: Due to its high melting point and low thermal conductivity, ozokerite (mountain wax) is widely used in rehabilitation medicine for external (application-based) treatment of inflammatory and degenerative diseases of the musculoskeletal system (arthritis, arthrosis, osteochondrosis, myositis, post-traumatic conditions) and the nervous system (neuritis, radiculitis). It effectively treats joint and spine disorders of dystrophic or inflammatory nature — both acute and chronic; consequences of musculoskeletal injuries; diseases and injuries of peripheral nerves and spinal cord; internal organ diseases; chronic and subacute inflammatory gynecological conditions, secondary infertility; chronic inflammatory ear, nose, and throat (ENT) diseases; skin disorders; early-stage peripheral vascular diseases, and chronic thrombophlebitis.

Ozokerite (mountain wax) contains ceresin, paraffin, mineral oils, asphaltenes, resins, gases, and biologically active substances that penetrate into the body through intact skin during the procedure.
