ECG on the palate and Slapak

ECG is one of the most informative and most common methods of examination.

The method makes it possible to diagnose diseases and syndromes that require urgent Cardiological care. First of all, these are myocardial infarction, paroxysmal tachycardia, conduction disorders, Morgani-Adams-Stokes syndrome.

Clinical observations have shown that for the correct interpretation of the ECG, the given generally accepted leads are not always sufficient.

In some cases, a correct and convincing diagnosis can be made only after registering additional leads.

The practical registration of additional leads has been developed by various authors. Most often, additional leads are used along the Slapak and Sky, since they are quite informative.

Using simple instructions, you can easily expand the diagnostic capabilities and make the routine method of research more informative: additional leads across the palate are used to diagnose posterobasal myocardial infarction. Diagnosis of this form is very difficult, since there are no typical signs of MI on the ECG recorded in 12 normal leads. The site of necrosis is formed on the posterior wall of the left ventricle closer to the base of the heart. Due to necrosis of a significant number of myocytes, the electrical potentials of the posterior wall decrease, which is manifested in the predominance of the potential of the anterior wall of the left ventricle.

If a posterobasal MI is suspected, an ECG is required in additional leads across the palate.
